Privacy Policy for MyCollectPal iOS App

MyCollectPal ("the App") is a mobile application for tracking and managing blind box figure collections. Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Information We Collect

Data Stored on Your Device

The following data is stored on your device using local storage:

  • Your collection and wishlist selections
  • Stories and posts you write (titles, text, ratings)
  • Photos you take or select
  • Recent search history within the app
  • App preferences and settings

If you do not sign in, this data stays on your device only and is never transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly choose to share it.

Data Transmitted to Our Servers

When you use certain optional features, limited data is sent to our cloud service (hosted on Supabase):

  • Cloud Sync: If you sign in with Apple, your collection and wishlist are synced to our secure cloud storage so you can restore them on a new device. Sync is only active while you are signed in.
  • Community Posts and Photos: If you create a public post or submit a photo, the content and images are uploaded to our cloud storage. Public posts are visible to other users along with your display name and avatar if you have set one. You can set posts to private, in which case they remain visible only to you.
  • Community Contributions: If you submit shaking tips, edit suggestions, series requests, or feedback, this content is sent to our servers along with your identifier.
  • Catalog Data: The App downloads figure catalog data (series names, figure details, weights, and shaking tips) from our servers. This is read-only and contains no personal data.

Sign in with Apple (Optional)

You can optionally sign in with Apple to enable cloud sync and community features. When you do, we receive an Apple-provided user identifier and, if you choose to share it, your name and email address. Apple lets you hide your real email and use a private relay address instead. We use this only to link your data across your devices and to attribute your community posts.

Signing in is optional. You can use the App's core features without an account.

Anonymous Identifier

When you first open the App, a random anonymous identifier is generated to enable community features. This ID contains no personal information and cannot on its own be used to identify you.

In-App Subscriptions

If you subscribe to Pal Pro, payment is processed entirely by Apple. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment information. Apple manages subscription status, billing, and receipts.

Data We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not use analytics or tracking services
  • We do not use advertising SDKs or serve ads
  • We do not collect location data
  • We do not sell, share, or rent any user data to third parties

2. Device Permissions

The App may request the following device permissions. All are optional, and the App remains usable if you deny them.

  • Camera: Used only when you choose to take a photo for a post or story.
  • Photo Library: Used only when you choose to select existing photos. We access only the photos you explicitly select.
  • Photo Library (Add): Used only when you choose to save an image from the App to your photo library.

3. Third-Party Services

The App contains links to Fig Palace (figpalace.com), our Shopify-powered online store for figure display cases. When you tap a "Get Display Case" link, you are directed to the Fig Palace website, which has its own privacy policy. We do not share any app data with Shopify or Fig Palace.

Our backend infrastructure is provided by Supabase, and images are delivered through Cloudflare. These providers process data solely on our behalf.

4. Data Security

Your local data is protected by your device's built-in security (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID). All data transmitted to and from our servers travels over encrypted HTTPS connections and is stored in secure cloud infrastructure with access controls in place.

5. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App collects minimal data and does not require an account for its core features, so there is very limited risk of inadvertent collection of children's data.

6. Your Data and Deletion Rights

  • You can clear your collection, wishlist, stories, and posts at any time through the App's Settings.
  • Deleting the App removes all locally stored data permanently.
  • If you have submitted community photos or contributions and wish to have them removed, you can also contact us at the email below and we will delete them.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
