Privacy Policy for MyCollectPal iOS App

MyCollectPal ("the App") is a mobile application for tracking and managing blind box figure collections. Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Information We Collect

Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The following data is stored only on your device using local storage and is never transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly choose to share it:

  • Your collection and wishlist selections
  • Stories you write (titles, text, ratings)
  • Photos you take or select for stories
  • Recent search history within the app
  • App preferences and settings

Data Transmitted to Our Servers

When you use certain optional features, limited data is sent to our cloud service (hosted on Supabase):

  • Community Photos: If you submit a photo for community review, the image is uploaded to our secure cloud storage along with the associated figure identifier. No personal information is attached to these uploads.
  • Catalog Data: The app downloads figure catalog data (series names, figure details, weights, and shaking tips) from our servers. This is read-only and contains no personal data.

Data We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not collect your name, email address, or contact information
  • We do not use analytics or tracking services
  • We do not use advertising SDKs or serve ads
  • We do not collect location data
  • We do not sell, share, or rent any user data to third parties

In-App Subscriptions: If you subscribe to Pal Pro, payment is processed entirely by Apple. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment information. Apple manages subscription status, billing, and receipts.

Anonymous Identifier: When you first open the App, a random anonymous identifier is generated to enable community features (photo uploads, suggestions). This ID contains no personal information and cannot be used to identify you.

Community Contributions: If you submit shaking tips, edit suggestions, or series requests, this content is sent to our servers along with your anonymous identifier. No personal information is attached.

2. Device Permissions

The App may request the following device permissions:

  • Camera: Used only when you choose to take a photo for a Story. Photos are stored locally on your device. You can deny this permission and still use the app fully.
  • Photo Library: Used only when you choose to select existing photos for a Story. We access only the photos you explicitly select. You can deny this permission and still use the app fully.

3. Third-Party Services

The App contains links to Fig Palace (figpalace.com), our Shopify-powered online store for figure display cases. When you tap a "Get Display Case" link, you are directed to the Fig Palace website, which has its own privacy policy. We do not share any app data with Shopify or Fig Palace.

4. Data Security

Your local data is protected by your device's built-in security (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID). Community photo uploads are transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections and stored in secure cloud infrastructure.

5. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the App collects minimal data and does not require an account, there is very limited risk of inadvertent collection of children's data.

6. Data Deletion

Since most data is stored locally on your device:

  • You can clear your collection, wishlist, and stories at any time through the App's Settings.
  • Deleting the App removes all locally stored data permanently.
  • If you have submitted community photos and wish to have them removed from our servers, please contact us at the email below.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
